Studio Policy
Practice
Students are required to practice a minimum of 5 days a week or meet the minimum practice time requirement as determined by the teacher.
No matter what age the student might be, practicing piano can be very challenging at times. However, with consistent practice, the student will learn to cope with challenges. In doing so, children can develop discipline, a good work ethic, and patience. Overcoming frustrations is essential to reaching their goals. It is a very valuable life-lesson.
It is important for the parents to set up regular practice time for their children. Practice at the same time every day is the best way to create a habit.
Parents Participation
Parents can have a major impact on the quality of the music education your children receive by working together with the teacher. Such as schedule piano practice time for your children as regularly as possible (and be firm about it). Make sure your children know that you consider music a serious commitment. And provide as much musical environment and cultural environment as possible.
Lesson
Students are expected to arrive at their weekly lessons on time, with the notebook, staff paper, and all the music scores. Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time as the teachers often have other students or commitments after the lesson.
Tuition
Tuition reserves the student's weekly time slot in the teacher's schedule throughout the year and is required regardless of attendance. Please understand that teaching piano is our job and each week the spot is reserved for you even if you are not at the lesson. The monthly payment includes the individualized lesson plan for each student, preparing music materials, the teacher's training and experience, and a guaranteed place for the student in the studio.
Tuition is paid monthly in full, due on the first lesson of the month. There will be a $25 late fee for payment received after the 10th of each month.
Attendance
In order to promote a regular practice regime and steady progress, the students are expected to maintain their weekly lessons, except for National Holidays, summer, and winter breaks. Since the lesson is only once a week, missing lessons can really set back progress.
Missed Lessons
Students will be charged for all lessons scheduled for the month. Although the teacher is not obligated to schedule make-up classes for those missed due to non-attendance, illness, vacation, doctor appointments, or other events, we will try to do so at our discretion. Cancellation made within 24 hours will not receive a makeup lesson.
Schedule Change
We will try to accommodate a schedule change with advanced notice. However please understand that changing of schedule is not so easy as it involves multiple parties changing their schedules. Therefore please avoid scheduling other activities and events at your regular lesson time slot.
Child Care
Our studio is not responsible for providing child care before or after class for students.
